You will taste delicious for our traditional Italian Christmas Eve fish dinner!
It’s in broken English but a “PR from Microsoft Italy” has confirmed that GoW 2 is coming in November, just in time for il Natale.
UPDATE - From MS:
Providing a dramatic close to Microsoft’s GDC keynote address, Epic Games Inc.’s lead designer Cliff Bleszinski announced that the epic saga of Marcus Fenix and Delta Squad continues exclusively on the Xbox 360 this fall with “Gears of War 2.” This highly anticipated sequel to the 4.5 million-selling blockbuster “Gears of War” delves deeper into humanity’s struggle for survival against the nightmarish Locust Horde, and promises to take high-definition visuals to a whole new level.
Microsoft just announced that the XNA Game Studio, the user-created games program for the Xbox 360 is coming for the Zune. The demo shown at Game Developer’s Conference shows a person controlling the game with the Zune pad, pausing the game, going out and switching music on the Zune, then going back into the game. Very neat.
In addition, since the Zune has Wi-Fi, you can also do multiplayer games as well! You’ll be able to multiplay from Windows to Xbox to Zune, which means that you might be able to develop one game for three platforms (with slight tweaks for each) that people can play with each other. Definitely cool. Check out Kotaku for more GDC coverage. [Kotaku and Kotaku]
Amazon is going to take the unusually forward-thinking step of promoting Blu-ray “more prominently” on its site over HD DVD. The good news for those of you who wanna expand your motion picture collection for dirt cheap is that they’re going to keep selling HD DVD stuff for the time being. [CNN Money]

Just in time (not really) for the release of the latest iteration in the Gran Turismo franchise, Logitech has announced the Driving Force GT racing wheel, which appears to be the most advanced wheel ever created. It features the usual force feedback, but it’s said to be more powerful this time and it has a 24-position real-time adjustment dial so you can tweak your brake bias, traction control and damper settings all on-the-fly.
Logitech’s newest force feedback wheel simulates understeer, oversteer, and traction loss with frightening accuracy. While the full-size gas and brake pedals deliver precise throttle and brake response, racers can use either the sequential stick shift or the wheel-mounted paddles to race through gears. The wheel also features a massive 27.9 cm (11-inch) wheel with rubber-overmould rim, providing exceptional comfort and control.
The Logitech Driving Force GT turns 900 degrees lock-to-lock allowing drivers to navigate hairpin turns with greater accuracy. And with anti-backlash gearing, there’s no slack in the steering response, making any race a smooth, realistic experience. In the centre of the 27.9 cm (11-inch) wheel, the Driving Force GT features an illuminated horn button with the official Gran Turismo logo. Using the authentic sounds of the automobile being driven, racers can swiftly alert other automobiles when they’re approaching fast. Or when playing online, people can simply use the horn to taunt other players as they speed by.
The Logitech Driving Force GT wheel is engineered for use with Gran Turismo 5 Prologue on PS3, which will be available on Blu-ray Disc™ (BD) and as a download on the PLAYSTATION®Network in North America on April 17 and in Europe on March 28. The Logitech Driving Force GT wheel is also compatible with Gran Turismo™3 and Gran Turismo™4 on the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system.
The official wheel of Gran Turismo is expected to ship in Might for $150. Don’t you think this should be made available before or on the day the game hits the masses?
Given how delicious we all think Microsoft’s touchscreen table, the Surface, is (apart from the $10,000 price tag) here’s a more basic version from ToyQuest. The Touch Table EES (that stands for electronic education system) boasts a 21-inch touchscreen from which you can play games and DVDs (hmm, very educational). It does redeem itself somewhat, though. Find out how after the gallery.
There’s also a Google Earth-style globe for you to bone up on geography—and work out where Bill and Melinda’s malaria millions are being sent. There are built-in speakers and AV/USB/SD inputs, but no world wide web connection (so no tabletop pr0n surfing while Nannie occupies herself with the ironing). Cost is $499. [TechEBlog via TechAmok]

So the Consumerist published a post about how Monster Cables are overpriced and unnecessary, and don’t really add that much, if anything, to the listening experience. So Monster wrote back, drafting a letter detailing that it’s the retailers who set the very high prices, not Monster. Sadly, Monster doesn’t do any damage to the (true) claim that the cables are just hogwash, but that’s another post.
Head over to the Consumerist for the whole rundown.
What do you do with a 25-meter-high acrylic glass cylinder, 238,000 gallons of sea water, 2,600 fish from 56 different species, and two divers? The Aquadom, the largest cylindrical aquarium in the world, that’s what. In its core there’s an elevator that travels through a cylinder of glass. As you’ll see in the videos after the jump, it’s simply stunning.
