Digital has nearly absolutely replaced film in the casual set and is making inroads among professionals and artists, but that doesn’t mean film is being absolutely forgotten. Kodak and Vivitar haven’t forgotten their roots, and are creating a new film camera aimed at universities teaching “traditional photography.” They state it’ll be similar to the V3000.
I’m not sure I like how they refer to film photography as something of a folk tradition (I’ve still got a Canon FT and some T-Max 400 in the fridge), but I’m glad they’re keeping the fire.

We thought this was pretty obvious, but after the Pentagon discovered Google Maps’ 360-degree panoramic coverage of Fort Sam Houston Army base in Texas, they have officially banned them from “filming inside and making detailed studies of US military bases.” How the heck the army allowed 
I’ve got good news and better news. The good news is that the iPhone is getting multitouch games that use the accelerometer and each bell and whistle of the iPhone for controls. The better news? Developers such as EA and Sega are on board. EA is bringing the insanely anticipated game Spore to it. All 18 levels. Yes, this is real, and it’ll be released in September. Also, Sega is bringing Super Monkey Ball, and the
