Xbox 360 Fanboy found this Flash document on Intellisponse’s servers, which is an online research and web-survey platform. It shows off a picture of a bunch of Mii-like characters called Avatars, that (according to the text above it) are supposed to be for the Xbox 360 and are used instead of the gamer picture. It’s unclear whether or not this picture is a survey, but seeing as Intellisponse is a survey and the picture looks a whole lot like a survey, it’s probably a part of a survey.

That doesn’t mean that Microsoft’s not working on this and isn’t rolling this out at the end of the year, however. Plus, when you try to copy the URL, it feeds you a “Copying this information is in violation of your Legally Binding Agreement of Non-Disclosure,” which of course we’ve never seen or signed. We’ll see what it means come E3. All we want is to be able to use the Xbox Live Cam to face map our mugs onto these things. PLEASE. [Intellisponse via Xbox 360 Fanboy]

As soon as you think they can’t build a more intense roller coaster, someone comes along and makes one that’s crazier than anything anyone’s seen before. Today’s example: the Farenheit at Hershey Park, a coaster that drops you down a 97-degree slope. Yes, that’s beyond vertical. It hits you with 4 Gs of force, more than what NASA astronauts are subjected to. Holy crap. Hit the jump for a video of this thing in action, then feel free to falsely claim how huge a man you are and how much you’d enjoy this voluntary abuse.

Formerly named Xbox Media Center, XBMC made the original Xbox useful long past its sell-by date, and it’s now been ported over to Mac OS X. Well, it’s been available for OS X for some time now, but yet another beta was released a few hours ago. That latest version, 0.5b8, can be found here.

Now, you ask yourself, “Just why would I use XBMC on my Mac?”

Because it’s great. Is that reason enough?

Let’s say you have a Mac mini or MacBook tucked away somewhere—why not put it to good use? XBMC will transform your Mac into a dedicated home theater PC. And unlike the Xbox1 version, the Mac version isn’t running on underpowered hardware, meaning you can watch HD rips at your leisure.

Imagine Front Row, but without the codec limitations.

My advice would be to play around with it this weekend for a bit. What else are you doing?

AOL Radio, yet another reason to consider getting an iPhone next month. AOL developed an application—it won an Apple design award—for the iPhone that lets users tune into AOL Radio either using 3G, EDGE or Wi-Fi. The app, when used in an iPhone 3G, calculates where you’re using GPS and automatically tunes into the closest CBS station. So yes, almost as easy as a regular radio, but one with some smarts behind it.

(And before anyone goes off, “I’ve been listening to radio on my [whatever device] for the past xyz years,” great, good for you, but now you can do it on an iPhone, a device that actually has mainstream appeal.)

The app will be ad-supported, so it’ll cost you nothing. So, a neat extra.

If you never used AOL Radio on the web before, give it a try right now. I’ve got KROQ on right now. Typical paint-by-numbers rock, yes, but it’s neat nonetheless.

The Toshiba G55 Qosmio, great great grandson of those first Media Center lappies that Toshiba put out, can use its webcam to process gestures and remote control your music, movies and powerpoint. One of the first. Laptop Mag states it works pretty well, if not overly sensitive at times.

They state it’s thanks to a the Qosmio’s powerful processor, but I’m not sure if I purchase that. And anyhow, I don’t like to waste spare cycles on something an infrared or bluetooth remote can do just the same. Plus, this sounds a bit too much like exercise. There’s a video over at [Laptop Mag]
