Each once in a while, someone at a handset company uploads somethings that just aren’t meant to be seen by the public yet. Sometimes, if we get reaaaaally lucky, someone else stumbles across these before they get taken down.
Such is the case with the Treo Pro, previously seen in a leaked live image as the Treo 850. Forum member “Scottymomo” from WMExperts [Via MobilityToday] spotted this presentation on Palm’s own training site, and snapped screenshots just before it got taken down.
Though a few details are still unknown, the presentation spills the beans on much of the goods. It’s got WiFi, a Micro USB connection, Touchscreen, a Ringer Switch, MicroSD expansion slot, and it’s running WinMo 6.1 out of the box.
The previously jailbreak-only Simplify Media has just hit the iTunes App Store, allowing you to stream your entire iTunes music library (plus up to 30 of your friends’) to your iPhone. The official app has all the features of the old version, including album art, lyrics and artist bios, plus works over EDGE, 3G and Wi-FI. It’s free for the first 100k downloaders, so we can’t think of any reason why you wouldn’t want to use this seeing as it gives your phone an essentially unlimited amount of storage space. Video demo after the jump.
Citing oh-so-ambiguous industry sources, Digitimes is reporting that Nokia may be requiring its display suppliers to be capable of pushing out AMOLED panels. According to their source, the move is as much of a test of their suppliers R&D departments as it is preparation for the future.
What’s AMOLED, you ask? Check out the labcoat-filled video after the jump.
After a month long exclusive premier in Brazil, the MOTO ZN200 has made its way to Motorola’s global site. Know what that means? Motorola will be releasing the ZN200 …somewhere else! Hurray!
We’ll have to wait to see exactly where it pops up, but it oughtta hit someone’s shelves in the next month and a half or so. It’s like an easter egg hunt, where first person to find out where it’s going wins the capability to purchase the ZN200. It’s not exactly the most heavily anticipated or most feature-packed handset, so expect it somewhere in the low/low-mid price range.
The Specs:
2 MP Camera with 8x zoom (fixed focus)
1.9″ TFT
Video Capture and Playback at 15-20 fps
CrystalTalk
2GB MicroSD support
Hah - and you all thought today would be a slow news day!
Fine - it’s made of bioplastic, which is derived from corn. Same thing, right? Plus, it’s superior than the other title I was considering: “The Samsung Eco E200 - it’s corny!”
While the definition of bioplastic varies widely depending on who you’re speaking to, the important part is that it’s a material made (at least partially) of some sort of vegetable oil rather than petroleum. It’s also supposed to be a good amount more biodegradable than traditional plastics.
However Samsung is defining “bioplastic”, the E200 is entirely encased in it. Check it out in all of its green guilt-curing goodness over at Crunchgear.

When Snap2Face first poked its head into the Facebook game, its only purpose was to allow Facebook users to upload pics to their account. Then came Macrospecs’ FriendMobilizer, which offered the remaining chunk of the Facebook experience: notifications, status messages, wall and inbox messaging - but no photo uploads. Not to be outdone, Snap2Face has gone and more or less feature-matched the competition while keeping their photo-centric advantage with their first out-of-beta release.
Snap2Face Version 1.0 Features:
Free, native Windows Mobile Facebook client
View Albums, Upload pics
Save friends’ profile pics as Outlook Contacts pics
Status Messages
Profile viewing
Wall posts and pokes
Friend request management
Uploading photos to show everyone how super awesome you’re is a huge part of the Facebook game, so it looks like Snap2Face might have snatched the spot as WinMo-based Facebook app of choice for the time being. So, Facebook addicts among us, weigh in: what could FriendMobilizer do to up the ante in their next release?
Joel at BBG discovered this delightfully easy bidet system, called the GoBidet. You simply move the handle into place when needed and shoot a little water up there. Dead simple. I’ve been waiting for GoBidet (HA!) ever since my aborted attempt at installing my own butt-washing toilet, the SpaLoo in my own home. I think this is the year when I’ll finally be able to wash my nethers sans hands.
This should help with those of you who feel that your iPhone or iPod Touch doesn’t have enough storage space. Now a legit App Store program (used to be Jailbreak-only), Simplify Media grants you to stream all of the songs in your iTunes collection over Wi-Fi or cellular connections.
